Based on individual or collective research processes, Pierre-Benjamin Nantel develops situated exploratory practices and conversations within the framework of residencies, study weekends, or discussions. These approaches, documented through editorial and/or audio publications, are supported by several cultural organizations, such as Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, Boom’Structur (CDCN in Clermont-Ferrand), Collectif 12 in Mantes-la-Jolie, and La Curie, an independent art space in La Courneuve.

Like an interpersonal relationship, in situ artworks engage in a dialogue with the place, context, and moment.
One could draw parallels between care practices—particularly the renewed exercise of the “one-to-one”—and situated artistic practices. Though their stakes differ, they share common mechanisms: empathy, listening, dialogue, contextualization, adaptation, and improvisation. How, then, can we understand and question the transitions from one to the other, or the overlap between them?

La Curie, an independent art space in La Courneuve. These meetings, held every first Sunday of the month from January to June 2024, provided an exploratory and joyful framework to test, imagine, and share furtive choreographic devices in public spaces.
