PROXIMITY CHOREOGRAPHY AGENCY

Furtive performance in public space
BY APPOINTMENT ON REQUEST !

Proximity choreographies are rooted in a relational practice, a way of artistically inhabiting one’s everyday environment. They bring into dialogue the daily choreography of public space and the personal research of an artist who lives in or near that space. Much like a CSA (community-supported agriculture), the agency proposes a short circuit between spectator and performer.

This concept emerged during a long-term residency at the Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers in 2024. During this period, as a resident of Aubervilliers, Pierre-Benjamin Nantel was able to explore a wide range of forms and formats. He developed a methodology combining geographical proximity and physical closeness with audience members.

Today, he shares this methodology with other artists, supporting them in the co-creation and development of their own proximity choreographies.
